Back in full effect....
Here's an update on all the happenings around here:

* Nicke's back to work and handling it admirably. It seems pretty clear to me now that the hardest thing for a mother to do is leave her child with a stranger/daycare/babysitter for the first time.

* Macy is doing well but we are still trying to overcome some obstacles. She still doesn't have long stretches of sleep through the night which has made Mom's ability to maintain her status as a superstar teacher all the more impressive.

* For a reason that we are unable to pinpoint thus far, Macy can't seem to take to formula. We've tried a variety of brands, flavors, etc. but no matter what we try it ends the same: a Chernobyl-like meltdown.

....its still the best of times however and Macy is growing so fast. About a week ago we had an impromptu "fashion show" so we would have an excuse to get her into her swimsuit (see picture above with Aunt Raymee, who also gave Macy the one piece). Not sure if it'll still fit during beach season....and we celebrated Nicke's first Mother's Day which still seems a little odd to say.

Alright....things are starting to pile up around here. I feel like I'm about three posts behind on keeping everybody up to speed on the latest happenings, but oh well.

We had a great Easter Sunday (even though I talked Nicke out of taking Macy to see the Easter Bunny and now I'm "public enemy number one" with her family...). Macy got to spend the day being passed around and fought over...at one point I thought it was about to go to fistacuffs over who's turn it was to hold her!!! She's a very lucky little girl.

Whoop, Whoooop......so its been a couple of weeks already, but we recently went in for our 2-month check-up. Our first REAL encounter with the whole vaccine issue. Not fun. We decided to spread them out rather than get them all at once and all the Mom's out there that want to chime in please do. Without question a very scary ordeal indeed, but I have to say Nicke was pretty cute looking through all her charts and the information she had gathered to go tit for tat with our pediatrician. I told Macy she had to be "one tough customer" to handle the shots she was about to get and after a little screaming and some alligator tears from mom....she was back asleep in her car seat in less than 5 minutes!!!!
Macy weighed in at a robust 9 lbs. 3 ounces!! That puts her in the 10th percentile for weight and she was in the 25th for height. Big WOW!!! That officially puts her in the "peanut" or "munchkin" category.....and most definitely makes her a "cutie pie." After some not so extensive exploration for possible future careers I was only able to find one: jockey. That's it.

After 2 months of what seemed like a non-stop marry-go-round of eating, sleeping and pooping our special lil' lady is starting to amaze us with something new just about every day....
She loves to look out the window, especially in her bedroom, she's smiling now and she has even been enjoying spending time on her activity mat/gym. Thanks again to everyone who has stopped by, sent a gift or called with their love and support. Can't wait for the weather to break and our little girl can get out and about in the big wide world....
